Publishing designer or paginator's role is to give final shape to the book or journal in terms of layout design of various elements as per the publisher's style, author specifications and producing final product in print ready format for the printers.

QuarkXpress: Quark is the world’s premier pagination tool with very high degree of control for formatting the content and pagination. It has the widest choice of plug-ins for all types of special applications.

InDesign: InDesign is fast emerging as the publisher's choice all over the world due to its versatility in handling colour management, graphic elements, table creation, XML support, nested and next-style concepts, layers, transparency clipping path, drop shadow and import/export from wide variety of applications. Use of Quark short-cuts and Photoshop/ Illustrator tools inside InDesign makes the tool user friendly.

Book principles, production workflow, typography, proof reading symbols, style sheets, specifications, formatting and pagination rules, table formatting, mathematical equations, copy fitting, image/tables placement, import/export from XML, maths extensions, indexing, table of contents, bibliography, cross-references, footnotes, page numbering, style creation/editing, master page creation, font types and file formats.

Eligibility:
Diploma or degree in any discipline with basic computer knowledge. Admission based on general aptitude test.
