Settings for Different
Applications
while using Elango Tamil 2000
Indian Languages differ a lot from English
and many programs have most of the default options set as
per English. While working with Indian Languages, some programs
like MS Office, PageMaker, CorelDraw. etc. may encounter
some problems with certain features. To avoid these problems
certain options are disabled in the programs to make the
software work properly with Indian Languages.
The symptoms in such
cases are typically:
a) Characters getting replaced
by another.
b) Characters getting replaced
by another after
pressing
Space or Enter.
c) Some characters like quote
marks do not appear
at
all.
d) It appears all right on
screen, but prints a different
character
on the printouts.
The general settings
which need to be disabled while using Indian Languages are:
a) Preserving upper and lower
case
